It's Just a fun song so everyone chill.... I don't why this is in Korean though! I wonder if San Yun Yi Jeong Jang is Sonny's Korean pseudonym? Who knows? Anyway 'Lights out' is kinda of like Boom part ii and I'm all for that. (-:

I am no Theologian nor am I philosophical in any way which is a shame (I think my brain isn't wired for that).

The way I see the Matrix is basically (the film and the possible reality) an analogy for heaven and how we can strive to understand all we want but can only dream on what the afterlife could be? Hence sleeping awake... Maybe I'll one day have my spiritual awaking and understand what a christian experiences with god and Jesus but for now I'll remain a depressed agnostic who doesn't know shit.

Also I'm just drunk lonely idiot typing into a keyboard so what do I know?
What I can say with certainty is I love this song and the Jason Truby era of P.O.D is quite underrated IMO. Plus P.O.D rule and bands like these help get me through the day so that's got to count for something eh. Much love to whoever is reading this just keep rollin and' I guess and I'll see you on the boards.
After putting some deep thought into the meaning of this song, I believe it's dialogue between two young lovers after one of their untimely deaths. Let's use "he" as the living and "she" as the deceased for this interpretation.

Some verses are from the living to the deceased. He tells her that no one will replace her. He'll never love another girl now that she's gone. She was the only one for him. This is uderstandable grief of losing a lover at a young age.

"I felt for sure last night That once we said goodbye No one else will know these lonely dreams No one else will know that part of me"
Conversely, some verses are from the deceased to the living. She is urging him to move on and live the rest of his life. She will wait for him and one day they'll be reunited (heaven/afterlife).
"You'll sit alone forever If you wait for the right time What are you hoping for?"
Perhaps one of the most beautiful songs ever created. Jimmy Eat World wrote some amazing ballads.

Its about loss of love / grievance. She could be dead she could be not Its not important It could be an abstract object of love - like love of western society lost but thats on the beholder . Theres no turning back anyway , unless the sun sets twice or something dreamlike . Theres no real hope so signs of life are provocative : Paint It Black

"Mandatory suicide" is a euphemism for the draft that the US government implemented during the Vietnam conflict. The child's toy is an allusion to the booby traps that the enemy would use (e.g., toys, piles of animal dung, cans of soda/beer).

"Spikes impale you as you're forced off the crest" describes the spring-loaded traps that were used, typically tied to a tripwire. These would be tied to trees in the jungle canopy and would swing down, impaling a soldier.

The enemy very effectively used psychological warfare during Vietnam. The use of traps and other hidden dangers messed with the minds of soldiers.
He's apologizing to all the people that loved him, cared about him, wanted the best for him but mostly to himself. He knows he was better than this yet by cannot forgive himself for letting everyone down. No matter what one has done for him, he goes right back to the evil. The lp ReLoad is basically James apologizing and singing about his demons for being all f'd up at the time.
